Since having my two children, I was never able to lose the weight I'd gained during pregnancy. Despite eating reasonably well and maintaining what I thought was an adequate amount of exercise, over the years I continued to put on weight. I was unhappy with myself and my lifestyle, so I began trying to lose weight. I tried everything from meal replacement shakes to fad diets, nothing worked. I ended up going to a naturopath in despair and lost weight by virtually starving myself but knew I couldn't sustain eating like this for the rest of my life. So I was back to square one. Then one day a friend of mine recommended Vision. She'd joined and I couldn't believe the weight she'd lost. I was hesitant, but I did it. My anxiety levels skyrocketed walking into the gym for the first time. I was so worried about what everyone thought of me, but I was instantly made to feel right at home. It hasn't been at all easy, but I've lost 25kgs so far at Vision. But not only that, I've now run in multiple fun runs including the Gold Coast half marathon which is a feat I would have never thought possible in my life! Vision isn't just a gym, it's a community, and I couldn't have done it without firstly my supportive trainer Stuart, but more importantly the friends I've made along the way. I can't thank everyone enough for helping me become the person that I am today.
