I realised that it was time to lose weight, as I had difficulties bending down to tie my shoe laces and also my doctor suggested that I should start on cholesterol lowering medications.
I remember my first session very clearly, where I was adamant that I would not be filling in my Food Diary nor attending any group sessions. Well, I certainly changed my attitude towards this very quickly. I unfailingly completed my Food Diary and soon attended various Group Sessions.
In less than five months at Vision Personal Training Bangor, I lost a total of 25 kg; won the Bangor 9 Week Weight Loss Challenge and I reached my goal weight of 66kg. The food diary was a great asset to achieving this goal. I changed my view from "this is only what I can eat" to "how to reach my macro nutrients".
The whole weight loss experience and weight maintenance program resulted in the change of my food. I eat now more than ever before but select healthier and more nutritional options.
This was a great accomplishment for me but nothing compared to the health benefits I have gained: my cholesterol levels are now below normal, I have stopped all pain medications for my back. Not only I am able to do up my shoe laces without gasping for breath but I am fitter than I have been in my entire life. Who says that life doesn't begin at 62.
