How "SMART" are the goals we are setting ourselves?

As we all know success can be fast tracked with proper goal setting, but how can we make sure we are setting good solid goals? Easy, it all starts with setting S.M.A.R.T goals.

S- Specific: making sure the goal being set is very clear or specific

M- Measurable: being able to measure the activity, whether that be distance, weight, repetitions or completing it in under a specific time.

A- Achievable: making sure the difficulty level of the goal is one that will still be challenging enough but not too hard that it will be too far beyond your reach that it can't be achieved.

R- Realistic: making sure the goal that you are setting is realistic. Which might mean taking things like timeline, medical advice, holidays or work into consideration before setting the goal.

T- Time: to have a time frame as to when you would like to achieve this goal e.g. date of event

An example of a S.M.A.R.T goal would be: I would like to run the Blackmore's Half Marathon which is in 4 months, and I would like to complete it in under 2 hours, I would do this by following the Vision 21km beginner running program.
