I joined Vision PT Five Dock just over 7 years ago when my health became a major concern and things had to change. I met with the team and I knew straight away that it was the best decision for me to help get me back on track. My doctor was happy with the progress I was making and I surprised myself that I developed a love of running. Slowly over time, I got fitter and stronger and then decided to challenge myself and run a 21km Half Marathon. I enjoyed it that much (yes, I did enjoy it) I registered for my first 42km Full Marathon on the Gold Coast a few months later. This was the best and worst thing I have ever put my body through. Running became addictive and the "Runners High" is something I chase each year and it has changed the way I live my life.
I have now completed a number of Half Marathons and now 7 Full Marathons with Gold Coast 2017 being the most recent. In the early parts of 2016 I had a pretty bad bike accident when I hit a car on my bike, injuring my chest, shoulders and breaking several fingers. The journey back to recovery has been a long one, but the guys at Vision have been amazing in helping me stay motivated and tailor my program to help guide the rehab and strengthening of my body again.
I have certainly realised that these events and my health and fitness is now more about the journey than anything else.
I can honestly say my life has completely changed, I am a different person, and so much better for it!
