BLUEBERRIES - are often considered the most nutritionally beneficial berry, with a general rule of thumb being that the darker the skin of the berry, the higher its levels of antioxidants. The potential benefits of blueberries in particular continue to grow. As well as their anti-oxidant properties, Blueberries contain cancer inhibiting properties, and can prevent mental degeneration in old age, and can slow the progression of symptoms of dementia.

BROCCOLI - Whilst all vegetables have nutritional benefits, Broccoli has been deemed a 'super food' due to the increased number of positive effects it has on the body, compared to other greens. Not only does broccoli have high levels of vitamin C and A, It also contains a large amount of fibre.

SALMON- As an oily fish it contains the high levels of omega-3 fatty acids, which can reduce the risk of developing circulatory problems.  Salmon is also rich in protein and vitamin D, which strengthens the immune system against colds and viruses.

OATS- The outer shell of an oat is known as oat bran and has been found to reduce cholesterol and the risk of developing heart disease. Oats are also an excellent source of soluble fibre, as well as protein.

TOMATOES- Tomatoes are a great source of beta-carotene, potassium and vitamin C to name but a few benefits. They are also rich in the antioxidant lycopene, which neutralises cells called 'free radicals' in the body, which can cause cancer. The antioxidants contained in tomatoes also reduce the risk of heart disease and are beneficial in maintaining eye health.
