Alcohol and It's Effect on Your Results- Alcohol at the end of the day is not just a toxin but it's also a carbohydrate nightmare!

 

Your body is a machine that runs firstly on carbohydrates, when they are entirely depleted, your body will turn to fat for fuel and so on with protein.

But what happens when you add alcohol into the equation?

Here in lies the problem-the introduction of alcohol changes the order in which your body burns energy and due to the fact that alcohol is also a toxin as mentioned above, your liver will process it first using the carbohydrate energy that it yields (Approx 20 grams of Carbohydrate in a standard nip of spirit-or 80.8 calories) as its new preferred source of energy.

Add to the carbohydrate nightmare the terrible food choices made after one drink too many, and your weight loss that was previously on track is now approx 2kgs behind the eight ball.
