How the fitness industry changed my life
Let's go back a few years to when I was 16 years old and diagnosed
with PCOS (polycystic Ovarian Syndrome). The only thing I knew was
that there was a higher chance for anyone who was diagnosed with
this syndrome to start putting on weight quickly and become obese
in the near future. And the cause of that is severe hormone
imbalance in their bodies.
A few years later when I was 20 years old, I was 7 kilos heavier
and under a very high dosage of hormone balancing pills. I was
moderately active but nothing consistent in my life. I was starting
to get worried about my weight and where it was heading. What came
into my mind was actually a picture of me in a few years which was
a picture I didn't like ... wait a second, I don't want that
picture! What should I do? Where should I start? How can I control
this? So many questions with only one simple answer, are you ready
to do something? And the answer was a big YES.
I signed up for a gym membership within a month and started doing
some exercises and activities regularly. After a few months I
started seeing some results of dropping the body fat and getting
into better shape. Apart from my shape and appearance was the
energy that kept pushing me forward with my progress. I started
working even harder, set a few goals and achieved them and that was
the best feeling ever. The dosage of the pills started to drop and
so did my body weight.
The amount of positivity that training brought into my life was
inexplicable; it was like a source of fuel for my mind and body. I
got to the point where the instructors and trainers in the gym
started talking to me about becoming a Personal Trainer and joining
the industry. That's how it all started.
With the encouragement and guidance of my instructor I started
registering for personal training and group class instructing
courses and tried my best to gain as much knowledge as possible and
educate myself in the field. The passion for helping people and
influencing them was always firing in me, I just didn't know how
and where to start until I got into the fitness industry and
trained and cured myself out of that disease and started my journey
of becoming a trainer and transforming people's lives.
Here I am 10 years later, cleared from PCOS for the last 3 years
and getting stronger every day. What I wanted to share in this
article was my journey and how it changed my whole life to a
completely new and different path. Nothing is impossible it's just
the way that you approach the ups and downs in life which will
define your future and how it is going to look.
Determination and dedication are the key and with awareness of
every situation in life you can make the best decision to move in
the better direction. I am happy that I got the chance to share my
story and experience with you and hope that this will help anyone
that is going through any personal health struggles.
