Life Before Vision:
I have always lived an active life. Have always worked out but primarily cardio as I believed that was the vest way I could achieve the body I was after. I always worked out at home as I hated the intimidation from gyms.
After the breakdown of my marriage I fell into a rut. I stopped watching what I ate and lost all motivation to work out. I got to a point where I felt so alone and depressed, so I decided enough was enough and needed to do something about it - if not for myself but for my kids. But everything I was doing was just not doing anything for me so I would give up until I felt horrible within myself again and then start all over. This cycle went on and on. Until Vision Personal Training, I never really focussed on meal timing or how much I really ate, no matter how healthy it was. I figured I was working out, I'd burn it off.
Results I've achieved:
So far, I've lost over 15cm of my body and down almost 5% body fat. I'm so much more toned and have developed muscle definition. But more importantly all the knowledge I've gained about exercise and nutrition will definitely hold me in good stead to be able to continue and maintain in the future.
How life has changed for me:
I am so much stronger, fitter, healthier and happier than I've been in a very long time. Prior to Vision Personal Training I had never lifted weights as I had an image of looking 'too bulky', but my body shape has changed in all the ways I've strived for, for years. I have so much more energy, my skin is the best it's ever been, and I'm so much more positive and just in a much better frame of mind.
Favourite thing about training with Vision:
I love how welcoming everyone has been and I especially love how every Trainer greets you by your name with a smile. I have never felt awkward or intimidated as I have been in the past. But hands down my favourite thing about training at Vision has to be training with Nathan! He always pushes me to my limits and pushes me to want to achieve more. It's always fun but tough. He keeps me accountable for all that I do. He always goes above and beyond to help me achieve my goals so I keep striving because I don't want to let him or myself down like I have in the past. I am more motivated than ever.
Defining moments during my journey:
It amazes me how my strength has increased dramatically. I'm lifting weights I never thought I'd ever be able to do. Also, seeing the centimetres disappear in before and after shots is pretty amazing.
Advice I would give:
I say don't hesitate if you are wanting to begin your fitness journey. It's never too late. I never thought I'd feel and look the fittest and strongest I've felt in years after having my kids, but I am so much more confident in my body today than I was prior to having kids, 100%. If I can do it, anyone can.
