Tell me about your life before Vision?
I had always been a keen jogger and would like to run 3-4 times a week for 30-40 minutes. I had never been a gym goer as I loved being outside and exercising in the fresh air. However, I was starting to get niggling injuries. My physio recommended I start strength work. I had also put on weight over the last few years and really wanted to shed some kilos, and wasn't succeeding on my own.
What results have you achieved?
I have almost reached my goal weight - have 1 more kg to go. I fit all my clothes which is great instead of them being tight. I am back running but have to do less than I used to. My body shape has changed, and my posture has improved.
How has life changed for you?
I feel more confident in myself, and I really like weight training (as long as I am not pushed TOO hard)
What is your favourite thing about training at Vision?
The trainers are incredibly friendly. I really like how everyone knows you. The overall philosophy to better health and the knowledge the trainers have about nutrition. The fact that my daughter can come to classes with me whenever she wants to at no extra cost.
What are some defining moments during your journey?
Seeing the weight go down slowly but surely. Being able to do 15 push ups on hands and toes, before I started I couldn't do 1! Being able to rum with the run club - which is for about 45-50 mins.
What advice would you give someone in a similar situation to where you were, and thinking about making a change?
It's a lot easier to really make a change when you have support - Vision is not about slogging it out in the gym, it is much more holistic approach to health and well being tailored to each individual and their goals.
