Tell me about your life before Vision?
Life before Vision was a battle of eating out 3x per day and exercising but not seeing any results. This was incredibly frustrating. Even though I would make smart choices when eating-out and socialising, I started to resent food and lost all enjoyment of going out for a nice meal or hanging out with friends. I believe this is due to a complete lack of balance, self-awareness and focus.
What results have you achieved?
Since starting Personal Training with Vision in February 2017 I have lost a total of 16kg and over 30cms to date. I am currently the fittest, healthiest and lightest I have ever been and feel more confident than ever before.
How has life changed for you?
The challenges of personal training have taught me that with intention, utter focus and determination, you can achieve anything. Not only have I become more focused and diligent at the gym, I am now able to transfer those skills into my personal life and career. The decision to embark on this journey of self-empowerment and transformation has proven to be the best decision I have ever made and I cannot wait to be in a position where I can help others to achieve their goals and live authentic selves.
What is your favourite thing about training at Vision?
Alongside our incredibly knowledgeable and supportive trainers, the feeling of community is easily one of the most enjoyable and encouraging factors of Vision. I always feel 100x better when I leave than I do when I arrived.
What are some defining moments during your journey?
The first defining moment was seeing myself in the mirror during my first fitness photo shoot. I was completely transformed in my eyes, from the inside-out. This result was reward for committing to a meal and training plan for 8 weeks, of which I didn't break this ONCE. This was the moment when I realised that my dedication to health and self-transformation was serious and far more than a hobby.
What advice would you give someone in a similar situation to where you were, and thinking about making a change?
You don't need to know HOW you are going to achieve your goal, all you need to do is make the decision to start with a and turn up with clear intention, then confide in your trainer and reap the rewards. The other piece of advice I would give is not to turn down social outings - drink tea/coffee and eat before you go. Empower yourself to still do the things you enjoy and those who love you will support you 100%.
