I've always been a relatively healthy person who was conscious of exercising regularly and trying to always eat well, but I was never completely satisfied with the way my body looked or how I felt. I went to Crossfit classes, but never as often as I should to really see the changes I was wishing for, and I drank too much socially on weekends. So I decided I needed to make some changes or I would never be happy with myself.

 I needed a big goal to aim for, so I had something to be accountable for. I knew a few girls who had competed, but I never thought it would be something I would even think about doing! Then I did start to think about it, until I finally convinced myself, I can compete if I really want to, what's really stopping me aside from my own limiting beliefs? So I went to Vision Personal Training Prahran and spoke to a Personal Trainer who immediately took me on as a client. The journey was not easy! I knew it wouldn't be but I was determined to do this for myself. I trained with my Personal Trainier for around 4 months before my competition date in October 2015 - 3 x weights sessions per week, 1 on my own and 2 x cardio sessions per week. On top of that, the food prep took up a lot of my time! But I always had the support and guidance from Vision and the few people close to me who knew what I was doing. The team at Vision were always smiling and made spending most of my nights there fun, and I always had their encouragement when I started doubting myself. Yes there were many times when I thought about quitting, it was one of the most challenging things I have ever done, but I'm so glad I kept going!

 I ended up coming 1st  in my division on comp day, not something I was expecting at all and it was a huge wake up call for me, because all those limiting beliefs and self-doubt went out the window, and I realised I could do anything I really set my mind to. I am now taking this new found confidence, perseverance and determination into other areas of my life and setting new goals for myself that have only been dreams until now. I have learned not to be so hard on myself, and to be proud of my achievements. I have also learned so much about health & nutrition that I am continuing to implement in my life, and I love how I feel now and that exercise and food prep is just part of my normal daily routine now. Bring on 2016!!
