When chasing a weight loss goal, we are all about feeling healthy within yourself and long-term sustainability on your journey when it comes to your eating. There are so many fads and different opinions out there now that it can be quite confusing and put your head into a spin. 

We like to keep it basic and simple as possible so eating 5-6 smaller meals per day is one of our favourites and easiest to follow. Have you ever wondered why at 3-4pm during the day you are searching for something/ anything to get your hands on and scoff down? 

This is because if you have skipped meals earlier in the day your blood sugar levels will be starting to drop. After about 3 hours after consuming food your blood sugar levels will begin to drop, after 4 hours your body had digested what you eaten earlier and then once you have crossed the 5 hour mark your blood sugar levels begin to plummet. This massively leads to cravings and making poor choices with your eating.

So, to have a positive impact on your blood sugar levels we recommend having 5-6 smaller meals throughout the day. You will need to still make good food choices for each meal, keep a check on your portion size and also have a good breakdown of carbs, proteins and fats throughout your day.

Eating 5-6 smaller meals will also have a positive impact on your metabolism and notice how your energy levels start to rise. You will be taking on the world in no time and keeping those unhealthy snacks out of reach.
