Managing type 1 diabetes and running multiple marathons and triathlons!*

 

Cendra is an absolute superstar within the ranks of Vision Personal Training Southport.

Walking into the studio 12 weeks before the 2016 Gold Coast Marathon, Cendra made a bold statement of wanting to run the full 42.2km marathon.  Having recently been diagnosed with type 1 Diabetes, Cendra was determined to set and achieve this massive goal to battle and not be a victim to her condition.  Having previously run a marathon (years earlier) Cendra knew it was a big task but set to it.  Working with trainer Jack on her nutrition, running programs and weights; Cendra built herself to the point of being ready.  In just over 5hrs, Cendra did it!

Fast forward from that day in July, Cendra has now lost over 10kg, completed 3 sprint triathlons and 1 Olympic distance triathlon, ran another marathon 60mins faster than 2016 but most importantly has her sugar under control!

With regular visits to her diabetes doctor, Cendra is over the moon to see that her average Blood Sugar levels have dramatically reduced to a healthier range, proving that managing her nutrition, exercise and medication together is a perfect solution to keep her health in order.  With increased knowledge of nutrition and carbohydrate timing around exercise and her training at Vision, Cendra has never felt so good!  She's even set the next big goal to complete a Half-Ironman Triathlon in Feb 2018.  With the right plan and structure, this lady will fly!
