I wanted to share with you a conversation and story that I had with Barbara Edwards who became part of our Vision PT Wahroonga family last year. I know she would not be upset, by me letting you know that's she's one of our more senior clients!

I became part of Vision Personal Training Wahroonga in July last year and didn't really know what to expect but wanting to change myself and realising I needed help to do this.

I was shocked to discover how unfit I was, after years of being chained to a desk and computer. I had also fallen a few months earlier, which resulted in a couple of breaks to my arm.

So, I started my new regime of three personal training sessions a week with two understanding trainers, they encouraged me but didn't push me too hard, with the result of me getting gradually fitter and fitter. Then in October I was hospitalized with acute pancreatitis as a consequence of a large gallstone - I came out of hospital minus a gallbladder. During my nine day stay in hospital, I was amazed at how quickly I recovered, which the surgeon put down to my fitness level. I was up and walking around 12 hours after having my gallbladder removed. Yesterday I had my final check up and again the surgeon was impressed that I had managed to lose more weight and that my blood tests were at normal levels again. The surgeons last comment was that I should absolutely continue my gym visits, as he was really impressed at how quickly I recovered.

It is wonderful for us to be able to help people travel into their older years feeling fitter, healthier and maintaining their strength. Sometimes everyday tasks such as, carrying the shopping, walking up flights of stairs or simply getting out of a chair is a challenge and it's great to know we help prevent that.
